Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi came out in defence of Pakistan within four days of agreeing to a joint declaration under the aegis of BRICS to condemn two Pakistan based terrorist groups.

China on Friday said that it would continue to support Pakistan as an important ally in the fight against terror, despite recent accusations by the US President that Islamabad harbours terrorist groups within its borders, including the Taliban. "In comparison, some countries need to give Pakistan the full credit it deserves", Wang Yi said, with Asif by his side.

India has legitimate security interests in Afghanistan, like Pakistan, and Washington was open to having global partners for constructive investments to stabilise the war-torn country, the United State has said.

The Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Wang Yi on Friday expressed unconditional support for Pakistan in what he called as Pakistan's big sacrifices the War on Terror.

Following Trump's remarks, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson also cautioned that Pakistan could lose its status as a major USA ally and see its U.S. military aid suspended.

Wang said China would work to "narrow the differences between Pakistan and Afghanistan". Asif said that in order to ensure enduring and robust relations with Afghanistan, the Pakistan government would be seeking active engagement with Afghanistan on various fronts such as political, military and intelligence.

He added that ETIM is a threat not only for China but also to Pakistan.

Wang further said that China, Pakistan and Afghanistan will hold new high-level talks this year to push forward for settlement negotiations to resolve Afghan issue.

With its focus on Afghanistan, China said today that it will play a constructive role in boosting ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

China has a lot of strategic and security concerns at stake in Pakistan.

Also Gwadar is located in Balochistan which for decades is facing an insurgency, allegedly supported by Indian intelligence, opposing the Pakistani government as well as the CPEC which many Balochis see as not benefitting them in any way and just bringing financial benefits to Punjabi Muslim overlords and Chinese businesses, something along the lines that happened regarding the development of Hambantota port in Sri Lanka, by falling into a Chinese debt trap. India should understand that Pakistan, as a nuclear-armed country, can't be taken down.
