On Wednesday night, Stephen Colbert kicked off his show by addressing the increased tensions between the USA and North Korea.

Quinn, who was a USA ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, said there's no need to panic.

The former ambassador said while tossing around phrases like President Donald Trump's "fire and fury" comment is frowned upon, it doesn't bring back any memories from decades ago.

Her comments come after the President of the USA promised "fire and fury like the world has never seen before".

Having come out with that kind of rhetoric from the presidential level raises the ante, and what we have always done in the past is take the rhetoric from North Korea with a grain of salt. We sanctioned Russian Federation just last week and it felt pretty great. they threaten us in a way you never will! "I think it's incumbent on Congress, our president, the world leaders, to make sure we don't get to that point. It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before.Hopefully we will never have to use this power, but there will never be a time that we are not the most powerful nation in the world!"

However, according to an article in the Boston Globe, quoting an expert in the realm of presidential power, Trump has nearly "unchecked authority to order the use of conventional or nuclear weapons against North Korea". "The United States, we sanction a lot of other countries, OK?"

"They count on me to be a straight shooter with a calm voice", he said to start his monologue Tuesday. "He (Kim Jong-un) has been very threatening, beyond a normal statement". Chances are, he doesn't want to live in one.
