Members of MA area law enforcement agencies were on the lookout for the auto, the woman, and the 3-year-old girl as an Amber Alert had been issued the day before when the woman threatened to harm her daughter. Police were able to ping Rickheit's phone and discovered that it was last in the Charlton area before being powered off.

Lee-Ann Rickheit was held on $500,000 bail Thursday after pleading not guilty to charges including attempted murder.

Trooper Keller Williams smashed one of the car's windows so the mother and daughter could be pulled out.

Rickheit was arraigned Thursday and charged with attempted murder, assault and battery on a child, and reckless endangerment of a child. Rickheit has a history in the Charlton area and was believed to have been recently traveling on the Massachusetts Turnpike in that area.

Ella's name was redacted from a police report of the incident. Rickheit was treated at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester, then taken to the state police barracks in Sturbridge. "The charges will reflect Rickheit's actions in fleeing with the child, as well as evidence observed and recovered during her capture".

The auto was then found by troopers in a wooded area around 15 miles from the town at around 3:30am on Thursday.

The mother and child being sought in an Amber Alert issued Wednesday night have been found, according to state police.

The girl was taken to UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, and police said she was reported to be doing well Thursday morning.
